It is now Oct 20th and we traveled from Wickham Park in Melbourne FL - very nice park at 2500 Parkway Dr, Melbourne. I would highly recommend this park to any campers. It has water and electric hookups -beautifully manicured lawns and a horse facility! This is managed by the County of Brevard and can be reached by calling: (321-255-4307).
Today we left beautiful Jacksonville FL and travelled down further South to Glades FL and are staying in in a County park that is very nice. It is just south of Lake Okeechobee. This area is for the "Fishermen". This lake boast of "The home of Roland Martin's Fish Camp" we drove the 110 miles around this lake last night.
Today Bill, Charles and Sis went off to discover Lake Okeechobee, I stayed at the camper to relax! The temputures here are mid-70's to 80's with a slight wind - beautiful weather!
It is now Monday AM Oct 26th.. we have traveled up the West coast and I loved the Ft Meyers / Naples Area.. hated to leave! The best campground we found yet was called: Woodsmoke Camping Resort 19951 S. Tamiami Trail (US41S) Ft Myers, FL 33908 PH 239 267-3456
This campground was very clean, well lighted and the people are really nice! While we were there they had a Friday night Supper for only $6.00 - Meatload, potatoes - the works! They have three lakes on the campground, two dog walks and a nice playground for the kids.
As US 41 runs through Ft Myers / Naples area this was a very convient campground also. They only charged us $30 the first night since we pulled in late and normally full hook up rates are only about $34.00. they have a very nice pool - clean! Please look this campground up if you are in the area.
